8th Grade English: Finishing the Journey

A Tasty Preview into the Year . . .

This, my friends, is no time to get lazy!  Eighth grade is made for preparing you for some tough high school courses, so don't be expecting any breaks here!  But who says work can't be fun?  For you, my special class of goofballs, we have some amazing literature, such as Diary of Anne Frank, To Kill a Mockingbird, and The Giver.  Don't forget Shakespeare and the crazy love triangle in A Midsummer Night's Dream!  We've got lots of poetry to explore, and everyday problems to solve using consumer documents!  We'll study the fine art of argument (as if you don't already have it DOWN) and you'll perform some dramatic soliloquies!  How about helping out future middle school students by writing a handbook to the school?  Get ready to show what you've got, eighth graders. The whole school is watching!
